TUN- Made in Medina
The team aims to lead an ethical revolution that will help preserve artisanal crafts of the Medina of Tunis and boost their economic potential. With the invasion of “Made in China” products sold in the Medina, the team wants to reverse this state of play and make “Made in Medina” products more valuable and more accessible. Three sub-concepts emerged: (1) Creating of a new role (or committee) in the Medina that would act “design editor” and would determine what qualifies under the new label ” Made in Medina”, (2) Building a collection of stories of Medina crafts and conveying them through effective communication channels (media, social media, events…etc) and (3) Developing a database of crafts which would be accessible through a user-friendly interface allowing users to learn about them, explore products and locate shops that sell them.
