Hala Higazi is architect and researcher with a background in building engineering and mapping. She recently completed her MSc Degree at the University of Greenwich, London, where she studied sustainable building engineering focusing on developing countries. Through this, her research interests have been on investigating new materials and building technologies, retrofitting, and rehabilitation.
Hala has participated in various interdisciplinary projects and workshop, exchanging knowledge and exploring new ideas from various perspectives of people with common interests. Hala currently works as an assistant lecture at MSA University Architecture department in Egypt and is also co- founder and director of Desert City Mappers initiative. She is also involved in various mapping and surveying projects with different research platforms in Cairo.
