Rudayna is driven by setting up efficient, smart ways to accomplish worthy goals. She is an expert at envisioning, creating and tailoring solutions to challenging housing, land use, and urban transport issues across diverse urban geographies including the Gulf Region. In her 20-plus year career as an urban planner in the public, private and non-profit sectors she has gathered extensive and meaningful experience at the executive level. She was the founding Director of Planning at Otak International and the Director of the American Institute of Certified Planners (American Planning Association). She is a frequent speaker at conferences and has authored numerous articles in peer reviewed publications.
Her passion lies in empowering less privileged people and striving for social equity. Making significant pro bono contributions to various non-profit and philanthropic ventures, she also recently established 2 scholarship funds, founded the UAE chapter of Lambda Alpha International, and is actively involved in her alumni association. At this time she is setting up a social enterprise to bring education to refugee children.
Rudayna has a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies from MIT, a master’s degree in Urban Planning from McGill University, and is in Class 6 of Amsterdam’s THNK School of Creative Leadership.
