Rym Baouendi is an urban sustainability catalyst and social entrepreneur with over twelve years of experience in the field of urban sustainability and social innovation. She worked on a range of projects globally and in MENA with focus on policy, sustainable planning and design, human capital development and entrepreneurship.
Rym is the founder of Medina Works, an urban sustainability consultancy crafting high-impact solutions for urban communities in emerging markets. She previously worked as a consultant for the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council leading the development of the Estidama Pearl Rating System program and is currently an active member of the World Green Building Council network involved as a consultant for the World GBC supporting capacity development of green building councils in the MENA region and as a founding member of the Tunisia Green Building Council.
Rym also co-founded Cogite, the first coworking space in Tunisia supporting a thriving community of changemakers and social entrepreneurs in the capital.
Rym is a THNK fellow and holds two Masters degrees in Building Engineering from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) and in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning from INSA de Lyon (France).
